A fabulous antique pendant set with the shell of a real scarab beetle, the irridescent green body set within a 14ct yellow gold mount, with a pendant loop. Starting from the late 19th century, pieces such as scarab beetles were used in jewellery during what was known as the "Egyptian Revival" period. Circa 1890-1920. Unmarked, tested as 14ct gold. The pendant measures approximately 30mm (L) x 17.7mm (W). The approximate weight is 2.1 grams. Please note that the antique box and chain pictured are for display purposes only. Thank you.
