Owning an antique is a privilege and a responsibility. Proper care ensures that these beautiful objects, rich with history, can be enjoyed by generations to come. Simple, consistent maintenance is the key to preservation.

Handling and Cleaning

Always handle antiques with clean hands and support them from their strongest point. When it comes to cleaning, less is more. For wood, a simple dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth is often enough. For metals like silver or brass, use a polish specifically designed for that material and apply it sparingly. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive materials at all costs.

Environmental Control

The biggest enemies of most antiques are fluctuations in temperature, humidity, and direct sunlight. Keep your pieces in a stable environment. UV rays from sunlight can fade wood and textiles, while high humidity can cause mold or warping. A consistent, moderate environment is ideal.
