Victorian bog oak Stanhope charms
Victorian bog oak Stanhope charms, for sale separately. Originally made as a tourist souvenir, these gorgeous little owl and pig charms are made from a rare substance called Bog Oak. Bog Oak is wood from an oak tree that has been buried and preserved in a peat bog for thousands of years and is in the early stages of fossilisation. They hold a little surprise in the form of a Stanhope. If you peer through one of the little holes in the body of the owl towards light, little postcard pictures of Ballycastle appear, and the same of Port Rush from the pig, both in Northern Ireland. Lovely souvenirs! More photos on my website: www.hardingandgriffin.com
