A rare antique early 19th century emerald and diamond anchor ring. The ring has a central pear cut emerald flanked by two old cut diamonds within a diamond-set anchor motif - symbolising hope, " a sure and steadfast anchor for the soul". The ring having bifurcated stylised shoulders to a tapered shank. Weight 2.3g. Emerald measures 6.9mm length x 4.8mm width x 2.3mm depth. English circa 1800
