Wonderful Georgian Old Cut Diamond Half Hoop.
The front band is designed as three rows of diamonds. the central row has the largest diamonds, seven of them, and they are flanked on either side by a row of six smaller old cut diamonds, offset, to form a checkerboard type of pattern, and all are housed in silver pinched collet settings with a closed back.
The diamonds are not big, the central ones are at best .07 carat each, and the outer ones are .03 - but they are all lovely proper high topped old cuts that almost look like table cuts. They are NOT just rough old rose cut type chips.
The shank is a simple bifurcated reeded shoulder, with a simple matching band to the back, all in 18 carat gold.
A great stacker!
