(🔴sold).A rare 18th century Jewish Moroccan, high carat gold and precious stone wedding jewel, or Tazra. With sapphires, emeralds and enamel, and an engraved back. With three suspension loops for attachment to clothing or a headband.
This form of jewellery is particular to the Sephardic Jews who’s origins were the Iberian peninsula prior the their expulsion and movement to, among other regions, North Africa and it can be compared to Spanish 16th-18th century jewellery.
